Here's what a typical RHS tasting entails: RHS boasts one of the largest selection of spirits available in Hawai‘i—over 100 award-winning craft spirits and liquors produced using local fruits such as breadfruit, pineapple, passionflower, taro, ginger, hibiscus, among others. In our sampling area, guests can try various types including vodkas, gins, rums, whiskeys, Sojus, shōchus, eaux de vie, schnapps, along with unique concoctions that include onion spirit, sea vegetable vodka, bacon vodka, turmeric spirit, and fruity brandy varieties. Our sessions tend to be informal conversations led mostly by Uncle Karl personally; he has become affectionately referred to within these parts as "Hawai‘i's Willy Wonka." During his presentations, he discusses ingredient sourcing, distillation techniques, and explores ways in which native flavors impact both taste profiles and maturation processes when utilizing traditional methods specific to this region.
