Private Panama Surf Island · Chiriquí

Private Panama Surf Island Have you ever dreamed of surfing in a tropical paradise with perfect warm water waves all to yourself? This is your opportunity. We have a surf camp that opened in June 1998 that will fulfill your ultimate wave fantasies. It is located on a small island in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Panama (Gulf of Chiriqui). There's also diving, fishing, exploring, or just relaxing in a hammock. On the island there is a variety of wildlife including monkeys, many types of birds, parrots and deer. The Surfer Paradise Surf Camp is actually two islands, one being the surf camp island and then a smaller island. The surf camp island has the living accommodations. Cabanas are located on the side of a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Water is supplied by a freshwater spring on top of the hill that has been piped down for drinking and showering. A generator supplies 110-volt electricity. There's a large sandy beach break directly in front of the surf camp. There are also several left point breaks nearby. Surfing, Surfing, Surfing The smaller island is about a 30-minute boat ride away. This is the island of the biggest waves. When the waves are flat everywhere else, you'll typically find head-high waves here. On the north side of the island there are lefts peeling off and on the south side of the island there are rights breaking waves. (Something for everyone.) We offer one main boat trip each day to the different surf breaks. What should I bring? The

Come and indulge yourself in an adventurous experience. We begin a few kilometres up the mountain with a brief 20 minute trek through the rain forest to reach our departure point. The initial decent begins beside a waterfall allowing for practise before tackling the rapids -at least until reaching the next falls. There are seven abseil descents over waterfalls altogether along with several small drops which require careful negotiation by climbing them rather than jumping off , plus trekking across parts of the river course when moving between these sections. Be prepared to get soaked during this trip; rest assured its inevitable ! Half way through the excursion we'll stop briefly to eat provided snacks while taking pleasure in being surrounded solely by nature . Items needed : Ensure footwear and clothing suitable for becoming drenched are worn ; if returning back to base or accommodation involves considerable travel then consider bringing additional clean attire too. A drinking flask should definitely accompany you whilst cameras could prove useful although they would inevitably become damp due to proximity to rivers. Sun cream isn't required because exposure outside the dense foliage remains minimal throughout most of the day but even more importantly using sun lotion contributes towards polluting local waters something we wish to prevent entirely. Safety considerations apply here though as participation demands reasonable fitness levels & carries inherent risks therefore specific criteria govern eligibility unfortunately...
