WHITE RHINO TRACKING IN UGANDA
Embark on a full-day tour to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary from Kampala or Entebbe. Enjoy a guided rhino trekking experience, see Uganda's only wild southern white rhinos, and learn about the sanctuary's conservation efforts.
Start your day with an early morning departure to avoid traffic and ensure optimal rhino viewing. Drive to the sanctuary, located in Nakasongola District along the Gulu Highway. Stop for breakfast at a local cafe along the way.
Upon arrival at Ziwa, receive a safety briefing from expert rangers before embarking on a guided rhino trekking experience on foot. The trek, lasting 1.5–2.5 hours, allows close encounters with rhinos in their natural habitat, accompanied by insights into their behavior and conservation efforts.
The sanctuary, spanning 7,000 hectares, also hosts other wildlife and over 300 bird species. After trekking, enjoy a delicious lunch at the sanctuary’s restaurant or a nearby diner.
The return journey to Kampala or Entebbe begins in the afternoon, with an estimated arrival time of 6:00–7:00 PM.
