We offer local tours and activities around Takayama city in Gifu Prefecture. There are over 20 resident guides supporting our tours, all fluent in Japanese, with some speaking additional languages including French, Italian, and Spanish. Our aim is to share both the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of the region while highlighting its unique features - for instance, how an astonishing number of seven Sake breweries cluster together nearby, or perhaps exploring what makes their way of life so distinctive? The climate differences during summers combined with pure spring waters sourced directly from the North Alps allow farmers to cultivate high-quality rice which then goes on to produce exceptional quality Sake at these establishments! Despite being located close to each other (within approximately 200 meters), every single brewery produces distinct flavors due to subtle variations in brewing techniques – something worth noting given that three centuries prior, no less than fifty six breweries were operating in town! This fascinating insight provides merely a glimpse into the extraordinary wealth of traditions and customs found throughout Takayama's streets...and indeed, beyond these iconic distilleries lie countless further attractions waiting to captivate your senses!
