Dhal Al Misfir Cave

Geological Formation: Formed between 325,000 to 500,000 years ago, the cave is made up of fibrous gypsum crystals. Phosphorescent Glow: The cave is renowned for emitting a soft, moon-like glow due to its fibrous gypsum deposits that produce a subtle phosphorescence. Desert Roses: These gypsum formations also give rise to “Desert Roses,” which consist of clustered crystal shapes resembling roses. Accessibility: Located at a depth of 40 metres (131 feet), this cave represents the deepest reachable chamber within Qatar; it’s now available to visitors thanks to improved accessibility pathways and safety measures such as guardrails installed throughout. Climate Control: Inside the cool temperatures remain significantly lower compared to those experienced on the surface during hot days out in the desert.
